Priyanka Gandhi tears into BJP for pursuing "destructive politics"
The 47-year-old dismissed Smriti Irani as no threat to Rahul Gandhi saying the BJP leader doesn’t comprehend the “real issue” of Amethi and turns up just once in five years during elections.
In the heat of election campaigning, Priyanka spoke exclusively to ABP News on Friday and said “people have lost all hopes from BJP and won’t be deceived by its jumlas in this election.”
The Congress leader asserted people have realized and can differentiate clearly between “dramatization and truth. “
Priyanka alleged BJP has brazenly resorted to “destructive politics” and has nothing to boast about its 5-year tenure at the Centre.
The 47-year-old dismissed Smriti Irani as no threat to Rahul Gandhi saying the BJP leader hasn't been able to identify the concerns of Amethi and suddenly turns up once in five years during elections.
Referring to the major fire that destroyed around 100 acres of wheat crop in Amethi district following which a 55-year-old farmer died of shock, Vadra said it was local Congress workers who “rushed to douse the flames and help the farmers and not Irani who tried to reach the spot fetching water from hand-pumps.”
Vadra heaped praise on her brother for engaging a number of Congress leaders in understanding the aspirations of people of Amethi and creating the party manifesto on those lines. “In the last one year, Rahul sent a number of Congress leaders to look into the issues faced by the people of Amethi. Along with them, he met people from all walks of life, be it – government employees, senior citizens, farmers, youth and after speaking to them the Congress manifesto was designed.”
