Bharatiya Janta party website hacked, PM Modi memes added with Angela Merkel, Bohemian Rhapsody
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s official website was taken offline Tuesday after reports emerged that hackers reportedly defaced the site. As per latest reports, no hacker group claimed responsibility for the attack so far. An official response from the party is awaited.
At the time of filing this report, the party does not open up and remains inaccessible, suggesting that it has been taken offline.
Several screenshots of the homepage of the party site which went viral on social media appear to show a meme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Congress could not resist taking a dig at its arch rivals, the BJP . "If you’re not looking at the BJP website right now -- you’re missing out," said Divya Spandana, head of social media for the main opposition party.
