New Delhi: After facing a massive defeat against Bharatiya Janta Party, Congress party has decided to maintain a low profile for sometime by discontinuing the appearances of their party spokesperson and leaders on television channels for debates.

The same was announced by party’s senior spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, who took to his Twitter and said “@INCIndia has decided to not send spokespersons on television debates for a month. All media channels/editors are requested to not place Congress representatives on their shows”.

Congress faced a big defeat in the Lok Sabha elections as they bagged only 52 seats against BJP, which won 303 of the total Lok Sabha seats.

The same has left the party in a very uncomfortable position as they have to give reasons for their defeat on LIVE television shows and debates.

The big defeat of the party was also accepted by party President Rahul Gandhi, who also congratulated PM Modi- led Bharatiya Janta Party for their victory.

Gandhi also offered to tender his resignation and leave the post of Congress President, but the same was denied by party leaders at party’s working committee meeting.

The Congress’ decision of disappearing from TV channels comes on the day when Modi is set to take oath as the Prime Minister for the second continuous term on Thursday.
