“Thank you for ordering, your food in on the way!” If you often order food online using food-delivery apps, you probably get this message after placing your order. However, imagine what if you order food sitting in one city and the order is picked by a restaurant all the way up in far different state. Yes, this 'might' happen to you too. Hyper-local food delivery app Swiggy has to bear the burnt of delaying orders or delivering wrong orders at many instances, but this time the app has taken it a bit too far as it tried to deliver a food order from Rajasthan to Chennai. Yes, you heard it right!

A hungry resident of Chennai named Bhargav Rajan ordered food from a restaurant nearby but Swiggy’s tech front messed up with the location and placed his order at an eatery all the way up in Rajasthan. But it got more interesting when Bhargava’s order was confirmed and en-route with Swiggy’s app showing that the delivery man was just 12 minutes away from the destination.

Astonished by what he saw, Bhargava shared the instance on micro-blogging platform Twitter with a screenshot from the app and captioned it, “Wow @swiggy_in what are you driving?” The order was for a mere Rs 138.

However, the food delivery app acknowledged the issue in its app and replied to Bhargava’s tweet by saying: This seems to be the work of God of mischief Loki. In all seriousness, we have highlighted this issue and taken it very seriously and are actively working on to avoid such mishaps in the future. Thank you for bringing this to light for us Hyperion. Bon appetite!

The tweet quickly went viral as others were taken aback to know that it cost only Rs 138 for that distance. Here’s how twitterati reacted to this hilarious bug by the food delivery app:
