Dumka (Jharkhand): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said on Tuesday that his party will respect the public mandate and play the role of a constructive opposition in the state.

"Public mandate must be respected; we'll play the role of constructive opposition. We know our duties very well and will give our best to work on them," said Soren, who won the Barhait constituency but lost Dumka.

As per latest trends, the BJP is set to form the government in Jharkhand as it is leading in 43 seats. The party's closest competitor, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), is ahead in 18 seats.

The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) is now leading at eight votes while the Congress is placed at a distant fourth, leading in just six seats.
