Yeddy not to quit BJP slams state top brass
Bangalore: Taking a
call on his future with the BJP in Karnataka, former CM BS Yeddyurappa
disclosed today that he will not be resigning from the party and has for
now postponed the decision.
“I have decided to keep in abeyance my proposal to quit the party due to
the pressure mounted by the MLAs and ministers not to take any hard
decision as well as due to the request made by Sri Arun Jaitley over
phone,” said Yeddyurappa addressing a press conference in Bangalore.

The beleaguered party leader is planning to seek the people’s opinion in
order to decide his future course of action.
Yeddyurappa said that he has spoken to the Speaker and none of his
loyalists will be quitting.
He blamed current Chief Minister Sadananda Gowada for betraying him and
the state and says Gowda along with state party chief KS Eshwarappa were
responsible for the crisis in the state .
Continuing to target Gowda, who was handpicked by him to succeed him, of
casting aspersions on him and insulting him and 'hobnobbing' with JDS
He said that he has the support of 70 MLAs and 53 are ready to quit.
"About 70 MLAs and MPs have stood by me at the time when I resigned as
chief minister. They continue to be with me. I remain grateful to them,"
the Lingayat strongman claims.
Yeddyurappa also alleged that party general secretary Ananth Kumar is
gunning to be the CM.
The former CM lamented that he has been victimised by the members of the
Yeddy faces a CBI inquiry ordered by the Supreme Court, wants his party
leadership to replace his successor Sadananda Gowda.
