Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2018: Voting to elect new Assemblies in Madhya Pradesh would be held on November 28 and the counting of votes would take place on December 11. The state is currently ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party with Shivraj Singh Chouhan as its Chief Minister. The term for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly expires on January 7, 2019. In the previous Madhya Pradesh election, the saffron party bagged 165 seats while the Congress won 58. Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party has four seats and Others have three seats. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is seeking fourth consecutive term in office. The Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2018 is crucial for the Congress as it has not been in power since 2003 in the state.
