'Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya' stars Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in lead roles
Revealing the details about the scene, an insider from the set reportedly told a leading daily that the way Varun enacted this scene impressed the director Shashank Khaitan. Since Varun knew that he could give his best only after he got drunk, he did this.

The 29-year old actor is known to be an occasional drinker, staying away from alcohol if it is not for parties. After giving his shot, a ‘high’ Varun slept for around an hour.
When Varun was contacted by the daily to learn if this report is true, he confirmed the news. He said that he had a few drinks because the script demanded it.
“I had a few drinks as the scene required that kind of an effect. I was high for a while, but everything was okay,” Varun was quoted by the daily.
Interestingly, in 2014, too, when Varun was shooting for 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', he got drunk while performing an emotional scene.
Looks like Varun is turning out to be next Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood!
