While the countrymen of India and Pakistan have been warring on the social media spreading messages defending their nations, the celebrities have largely been responsible in their tweets and asking fans to maintain peace, leaving some like Veena Malik.

“Shame on you & your sick mindset” – Swara Bhaskar bashes Veena Malik over her Wing Commander tweet!

Reacting to Abhinandan's release, here's what the pakistani actors, sport stars & singers have written on Twitter:

Ali Zafar: "What a gesture ! So proud of our country, it’s armed forces and its people. The world should stand a witness to the new mindset in Pakistan. That of PEACE which can prove to be the most substantial asset in bringing much awaited stability and progress in the region."

Shoaib Akhtar: "Indian Airforce Pilot Abhinandan will be freed tomorrow as a gesture of peace" Announced by Prime Minister in the National Assembly. "

Mawra Hocane(seen in B'wood film 'Sanam Teri Kasam'): "This is how you rule a country & many hearts with grace & dignity. The slogan of “HUMANITY FIRST” is written all over our decision. "

Shafqat Amanat Ali: "So happy to know that Indian Airforce pilot being released and returned as gesture of peace...Respect for you and Prime Minister "

And while the Pak celebs hailed their PM's "peace gesture", Veena Malik touches a new low with her tweet she posted right after her Prime Minster's annoucement. Taking a dig at Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she wrote: "The difference between a chaiwala and an Oxford graduate ".

Abhinandan, flying a MiG -21 Bison fighter plane, was chasing Pakistani jets which transgressed into Jammu and Kashmir yesterday and crossed over to PoK where his aircraft was shot down. He ejected safely and was taken to the custody by Pakistani Army.

Now country awaits the safe return of it's soldier back on the Indian soil.
