Which side needs what?

Mumbai:

A death bowler who can support Jasprit Bumrah. Possible options are West Indian seamers Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas. And probably a back-up for an out-of-form Keiron Pollard. All eyes will be on young Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dubey, who has base price of 20 lakhs.

RCB:

The frontrunners to bag Yuvaj Singh. The reason? There need for a solid Indian middle-order batsman.

Kings XI:

They are the ones with the most amount of money in their purse and boy they will need all of those. Kings XI Punjab have a chance to pick 11 Indian cricketers and 4 foreigners. Don’t be surprised if they al out for a Hanuma Vihair, Wriddhiman Saha or even Axar Patel, who was released by them prior to the auctions.

Capitals:

They got Shikhar Dhawan back and he will be a like-for-like replacement for Gautam Gambhir but the swap with Sunrisers has left them short in all-rounder’s department. They would also want a back-up wicket-keeping option for Rishabh Pant. Delhi keeper and India U-19 star Anuj Rawat can be an ideal option.

CSK:

The champions pretty much have all bases covered. But they would want a couple of youngsters to complement their experienced lot.

Sunrisers:

They let go of Dhawan, means they need a solid Indian opening partner with David Warner. Don’t be surprised if they again bid for Wriddhiman Saha, who was released because of his injury troubles.

KKR:

They are another franchise, who might go for Yuvraj Singh. But the real problem for KKRi s back-up options for their power-packed foreign recruits. Dale Steyn, Sam Curran will be on top of their lists as a replacement of Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc.

Royals:

Like-for-like back-ups for Smith, Buttler and Stokes, an Indian fast bowler to fill Unadkat's spot (if they are not buying him back at a lower price), an extra spinner
