Flood Fury: Threat of epidemic looms over Patna

Threat of contagious diseases looms over Patna.The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is, meanwhile, closely monitoring the situation of states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand, where normal life has been affected due to incessant rainfall for the past two days.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a review meet, via video conferencing. Heavy rain has also been reported in Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh which led to several deaths. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Bihar on Sunday. IMD Patna chapter also predicted heavy rains to extremely heavy rainfall in at least nine districts in the state.
