Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and a Member of Parliament Tariq Anwar on Friday resigned from the party in protest against party president Sharad Pawar over his statement defending Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Rafale deal.

The NCP national general secretary also resigned from the post of Lok Sabha MP, reported news agency ANI.
