Paralympic medallist Deepa Malik joins BJP

Padma Shri recipient and Paralympic silver medallist shot putter Deepa Malik joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Monday in the presence of senior party leaders.

Malik was inducted into the party by General Secretary and Haryana in-charge Anil Jain and state BJP chief Subhash Barala at the party headquarters here.

Malik is the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympics. She has also been honoured with the Arjuna award.
