Days after Congress President Rahul Gandhi handed over his resignation from the post of party Chief at party’s Working Committee meeting, after a massive defeat in Lok Sabha elections, speculations floated that Gandhi has retracted his resignation. The same has now been rejected by party sources which tell that Gandhi did not and is not likely to take back his resignation.

Therefore, the party is more likely to elect a new President.
