Super 40: SC stops cutting of trees in Mumbai's Aarey

Supreme Court asked authorities to stop cutting trees anymore in Mumbai's Aarey. The exercise was being carried out to set up a Metro car shed. The bench said, "Don't cut anything now," asking Maharashtra Government to maintain status quo. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta who appeared for Maharashtra Government assured the court that no trees will be cut anymore. Earlier, protests erupted against the chopping of trees
