New Delhi: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan became a subject of ridicule on the internet and his knowledge of geography came under question after his recent gaffe where he said that Germany and Japan share border.

The Pakistani premier was ruthlessly trolled after a video clip of him saying “Japan and Germany share the same border” went viral.

The statement was made by Khan during his Iran visit at a press conference. In the video being widely circulated, Khan can be seen sitting alongside his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani and saying that Japan and Germany share a common border.

Khan was heard saying confidently  in the video: “On the border region of Germany and Japan, they had joint industries".

He was talking about importance of trade in strengthening ties: “ Trade strengthen ties, the more trade you have with each other, your ties automatically gets stronger”.

He then went on to cite example of 'Germany and Japan': "Germany and Japan killed millions of their civilians until after the Second World War they decided that they would have on the border … on the border region of Germany and Japan, they had joint industries. So now there is no question of them ever having bad relations because their economic interests are tied together.”

Germany and France which share border came together to improve their ties and create economic cooperation. It may be possible that Khan confused France with Japan.

However, Khan’s blunder could not escape the Twitterati and within no time, he inspired hundreds of memes. Watch the clip here:

Khan's former wife  Reham Khan too joined the league and savagely trolled Khan:
